Microblog Updates for 2009-11-23

  • @charlesdietrich aiming at 1.5 just for now… #
  • Awesome Web Design News has had installs on the Android whilst it is still in the queue on the iphone review process #
  • Does anyone know roughly how many android 2.0 devices there are in the world? #
  • @KhaledEss are there any figures on actuall numbers in use (if that makes sense) #
  • @mcknut lol :) #
  • @jonbyrne Packaged up a v1.5 version of Web Design News and I can see it in the Market place :) woot…. not bad for the first app. #
  • @mathwuyue yeah, its looking up for the android phones I think… #
  • So stoked, 3 apps in the android market place… #
  • @mcknut just thought there must be more than 6 or 7, I had more downloads than that last night ;) #
  • @jonbyrne 100’s of niched news ones. there is still a lot of work to do but the theory is that as I update the framework every app benefits #
  • @jonbyrne if you have any types of news you are looking for I can make an app for it pretty quickly. #
  • @mathwuyue I have an interest, but no experience developing blackberry apps. #
  • @ldaley I do thank you…. oh you were talking about the git scm :) #
  • @24z it does through an application layer…. admittedly the layer is a web browser #
  • @24z It might very well be an OS, it all seems on where you are happy with the abstraction sitting… #
  • @24z in chromes os’es sense the browser is the only thing that can run applications, where as IE has whatever runs applications underneath #
  • @24z regardless though, it is still hard to draw a line between OS and application #
  • @jonbyrne thanks for the review :) #
  • Woot - another app in the android market place. :) #
  • @ssethi hmmm, I am going to say I prefer android for the fact the API isn’t too hard to start with. Apps are available imediatlely #
  • @ssethi however the framework I have allows us to deploy the same app to android and iphone in minutes #
  • @ssethi the objective c conventions are a bit of a ball-ache to learn. #
  • RT @tshannon: having another developer in the office has made me start writing useful comments again, or at least more of them #
  • seesmic android app is pretty cool #
  • LinkedIn developer API. http://bit.ly/72RkaO - Cool. Redirects to an IP address - not so cool ;) #
  • How are people marketing their android apps? #
  • @KhaledEss http://bit.ly/5AGvPe some stats on android phone usage #
  • @Plip whats a garlic press? #
